We were able to hear this couples’ love story through the reading of their vows. They told about how they met, discovered their chemistry and fell in love. They have great love for their friends, family and a wonderful thing called a cookie bar. After a beautiful ceremony on Sunset Beach, the bridal party left for a surprise location. The bride and groom surprised them with a sunset cruise on the Treasure Island Pirate Ship! They had a blast! The festivities continued when they arrived at their reception at the Grand Plaza Hotel. Cheers Nick + Natalie!
This couple wanted to incorporate their dog into their engagement photos. They were looking for a natural, garden feel. So we decided on Florida Botanical Gardens. We quickly discovered that the dog was a total ham. He loved the attention of having his photo taken. Although he didn’t always stay in the position we put him in, he almost always wandered into an even cuter pose. We loved how this couple worked together with the dog (we know raising a big fluff-ball takes lots of patience and team work). We didn’t have to look hard to find sweet moments and big laughs. Andrew was such a good sport as we quickly sneaked in the couples’ Christmas photo, complete with a Gators scarf. 🙂 We cannot wait for the big day! Cheers Andrew + Whitney!
Jon + Erika were married in a beautiful beach ceremony on North Redington Beach. I love this beach for it’s white sand and residential feel. The aqua color and the pink pops from the flowers were soft and gorgeous. They exchanged letters before the ceremony without seeing each other. It was such a cute moment and really ramped up the excitement for the ceremony. The vows were emotional and honest. We loved witnessing this blended family union. They incorporated their children in a beautiful sand ceremony and they all danced the night away. Cheers Jon + Erika!
Chaz + Lauren are an artistically gifted couple, so it was no surprise to find a few special elements in their wedding day. The table names were musical genres and the ceremony featured a beautiful kazoo accompanied song. It was impossible to find a guest without a huge grin. I also loved the first selfie as husband and wife they took right up at the alter. Their venue was perfect for their styles. The colored up-lighting and modern touches fit them wonderfully. It was such a pleasure to photograph this wedding and witness the creation of a beautiful new family. The dancing was spectacular, featuring a mini dance lesson during the father-daughter dance. (A first for us!) This couples knows how to love and laugh. Cheers Chaz + Lauren!
One of my News Year’s resolutions is to post more on the blog. I thought I would start with this stunning wedding at Sirata Beach Resort on St. Pete Beach. I love the yellow and gray combination! I am so glad yellow is making a comeback. It is so cheerful and bright. This wedding was full of personal touches and sweet moments. The bride wanted a special first look with her dad. It was an emotional moment. It was so obvious that this couple was thrilled to be getting married. They were surrounded by amazing friends and family. I fell in love with their first dance song! I had never heard it before and instantly connected to it. (You and Me by You+Me) The night was full of dancing, great food and laughs. Cheers Phillip + Briana!
We LOVE shooting at the Brooker Creek Preserve in Tarpon Springs. It is where my husband and I went on our first hike together. <3 It is classic ‘wild Florida’. And I love it. So when Dylan and Mackenzie said they wanted rustic outdoors… I knew I was going to nail it with this location. The day was bright and crisp, perfect for this couple. They fearlessly followed us into the park and lit up the camera with their effortless chemistry. Mackenzie wanted a few firefighter themed photos since that is Dylan’s profession. They came out amazing! I cannot believe we have to wait until 2016 for the wedding. I can’t wait to see how magical it will be!
This location was gorgeous, but posed a few obstacles. But with some patience and creative cropping, it was a success! Ariella had a beautiful vision for this shoot. She wanted a bright and airy romantic feel. The architecture echoed colonial romance perfectly. We added a picnic to capture this couple’s natural chemistry and relaxed nature. They said they were nervous, but it didn’t show. We got caught up in their adorable-ness. 🙂 I can’t believe we have to wait until 2016 to see these two get hitched! Enjoy the bliss of being engaged. Cheers!
John + Tia’s biggest priority for their engagement photos was to incorporate their pup. We brainstormed dog friendly locations and settled on one of our favorite spots – Honeymoon Island. The park offers a dog beach accessible via a long walk through pristine nature. The dog loved the location! You can learn a lot about people by the way they treat their dog. This couple is patient, kind and has a wonderful sense of humor. We had a beautiful sunset and loved the energy of this shoot. We can’t wait for the big day – we’ve been assured it is going to be full of the same energy! Cheers!
This couple wanted a romantic garden engagement session. We gathered up our garden picnic props and found a beautiful nook at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. They incorporated a sign with the wedding date written in chalk in a few of the picnic photos to make beautiful save-the-date cards. LOVE! We even had time to make a run to a waterfront park down the street. We enjoyed laughing and getting to know these two love birds. Sometimes the craziest things happen on our outings. We saw a wild python and almost fell off a dock. All in a days work! Totally worth it to get THE photo. Cheers!
This couple, like many, were unsure if engagement photography was for them. Luckily, we were running a promotion that included a free session. We start our sessions with simple, non-intrusive poses and progress from there. It gives us an opportunity to see how comfortable in front of the camera and how much, if any, direction you need. This couple was all smiles and had amazing chemistry. We really just had to observe them interact. We got to know a little about them as individuals and as a couple. It was easy to see how these two strengthen each other. And most importantly make each other laugh! That is the secret folks! The day was bright and beautiful. We can’t wait for the big day! Cheers!
