Phillip and Briana were such good sports in this downtown St. Pete engagement session. It was the Saturday morning after First Friday and we had some barricades to break through. That was no problem for this adventurous couple. They kept each other laughing through the whole shoot… makes it easy for us to capture genuine happiness. 🙂 Briana’s friend made the awesome black save-the-date sign. I LOVE typography! We had to do a touch-up since I kept bumping into the chalk sign… and Briana’s artistic side took over. She even gathered an audience… they all wanted to see what she was doing. Maybe next time she can wow us all with a chalk sketch of downtown St. Pete! 🙂

What a beautiful day for a garden wedding! The sun was streaming through the giant oak tree and bouncing off the gulf. The couple incorporated their dog into the processional… so cute! The rings were tied around the collar. I love dark blue in weddings. It really made the greens of the gardens POP. The bride wore a petticoat that has been in her family for 100 years. Every bride has worn it on her wedding day… what an awesome tradition. There are so many beautiful locations at Marie Selby Gardens for photos. Afterwards, we traveled by trolley to the Hyatt Regency Sarasota for the reception. It was a night full of fun surprises and enormous smiles!

There were so many little details I loved about this wedding: the wooden ring box, hand painted frame, dancing ring bearers, custom wine box, hearts on the bottom of the wedding shoes, and a funny newlywed game. There was a flurry of dancing and some rooftop photo-opps. It was a wonderful night.

Live every moment, laugh everyday, love beyond words…

I must admit I have a weakness for downtown St. Petersburg. I love it. There are so many nooks with amazing textured backgrounds, and they are just a few steps form each other. This couple kept us laughing. One word: ADORABLE. I love it when couples make each other laugh, it makes capturing genuine happiness a piece of cake. Mary found a few awesome props on etsy… love that place. They quickly warmed up to the cameras and the result was stunning. Some photos were used as decor in their rustic Cross Creek Ranch wedding. <3

Love is a dance, performed by two hearts, that have the same beat…

We LOVED this venue. The Casa Ybel Resort in Sanibel is quintessential old Florida. It is southern charm… classy and welcoming. This couple was hip, funny and totally in love. I loved the personalized hanger. The flower girl even got one of her own. <3 And the sun glasses turned into great photo props. Family and friends traveled far to enjoy the sand, sun and vows of this destination wedding. The bride and groom seemed like age old friends of ours by the end of the night.

Love is always rooting for the same team…

This couple filled their wedding with personal touches. As huge USF fans and alumni, little touches of green were everywhere. The bride’s bouquet was so unique and it was a first for me. It was a brooch bouquet made from family heirlooms and sentimental favorites. It was beautiful and heavy! The ceremony at the St. Pete Beach Community Center overlooked the water. It was overcast but the rain held off until after the ceremony. It’s good luck! And it made for overcast, moody photos and some waves! Yay! This couple really enjoyed all the kissing we instructed them to do… which was adorable! The reception was full of toasts and a custom brewed beer made by the bride and groom! According to the beer aficionados in the room, it was delicious!

In high tide, or in low tide, I will be by your side…

The Sirata Beach Resort offers many different ceremony and reception options. This couple elected for a beach ceremony, grotto cocktail hour and reception in a ballroom over looking the Gulf of Mexico. The ceremony was beautifully officiated by the groom’s father. The bride wore a stunning dress perfect for the sand. The bridal party had a blast on the beach during the portraits and the reception was equally full of laughing.

What God has joined, let no man separate…

This wedding ceremony was held at St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Sarasota. The church and grounds were gorgeous. The church has a second floor balcony that overlooks the alter which gave us a sweeping view of the ceremony. This University of Florida couple… my alma mater 🙂 … had a huge bridal party. The more the merrier! It took some planning to find areas that could accommodate so many people…  and a wide angle lens. The rockin’ reception was held at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. We LOVED the band! They played swinging classics and contemporary hits to get everyone on the dance floor! This couple surprised their guests with a beautiful choreographed first dance. Every time I see choreographed dances, I wish I had time to take ballroom lessons. It makes a huge impression on your guests… you can tell by the glossy eyes and huge smiles. There is just something so classy and magical about ballroom dancing. And that sums up this wedding, classy and magical.

Live simply, laugh often, love deeply…

We could not have hoped for a more beautiful sunset for this Sheraton Sand Key Resort wedding! The beach ceremony was beautiful and bright. After getting family photos wrapped up, we decided to wait for better lighting to do more photos. This groom did a great job keeping the bride smiling with little jokes. We were able to capture a few tender moments as well. The reception took place under a huge, white tent on the sand with a view of the ocean. Sand Key beach is much less populated than the neighboring Clearwater Beach. This allowed us to get wide shots of this couple walking on the beach with no tourists wandering into the photo… not that this couple would have even noticed. They only had eyes for each other.
