Zack + Lindsay were married at St. Jude Cathedral Chapel on a rainy day. As they were getting ready at the Postcard Inn, the bridesmaids joked that the rain was good luck. And as good luck would have it… it stopped just in time for us to travel to downtown St. Petersburg for some fun photos! I loved the pink in this wedding. It was so feminine and elegant. The gray suits blended with the pops of color. And the flowers… WOW! The reception was held at the Gulfport Casino ballroom where a live band kept the party going all night. A sparkler send-off finished the night in a magical way. Cheers to you love birds and best of luck in sunny Nevada!

Luke + Steffanie tied the knot at the Magnuson Hotel Marina Cove in St. Petersburg. The private beach had a beautiful view of the Sunshine Skyway bridge. It was a rainy week and all signs pointed to a rainy ceremony. The bide and groom were not worried. They just wanted to say ‘i do’. The bride did a mini first look… with her dad. Oh what a tear jerker. This was even more emotional than many bride and groom first looks. About 5 minutes before the ceremony, the matron of honor and bride decided to go for an outside ceremony. Friends and hotel staff quickly dried the chairs and the rain held off for the next hour. Perfect! The clouds made for a moody background. There was just enough light for a dramatic sunset. The night was full of laughing, dancing and one of  the best matron of honor toast I have ever seen. 🙂

Jonathan + Renee first stole my heart on their engagement session. But their love was even more obvious on their wedding day. <3 They were surrounded by an amazing group of friends and family. The Powell Crosley Estate is an amazing venue. I love how there are different rooms and patios for each event. The patio on the back lawn with the hanging chandelier and view of the gulf is breathtaking. The new Mr. + Mrs. Surprised guests with an elegant choreographed first dance. The smiles on the bride and groom’s faces were huge. But that wasn’t the only surprise of the night. The groom’s parents surprised the couple with a honeymoon trip. They played a song to reveal the secret location… ‘Viva Las Vegas’! 🙂

The first time I spoke to Damien + Amanda they said they wanted a ‘different’ engagement session. Oh… I can do that! We spoke about what movies and books they liked and we discovered they are huge Tim Burton fans. For their Jacksonville engagement photo session I came up with an idea to do a Through the Looking Glass/Alice in Wonderland/Mad Hatter Tea Party inspired shoot. I picked up a few spectacular props at my local thrift store and raided my house for all things Burton-like. They came dressed to impress and brought a magic potion. Never before have I photographed Absinthe and dry ice in a forest setting. It was epic. The greens really popped. We found the perfect meadow for our big set up.  The photos came out hauntingly beautiful. Most credit must go to the couple and their amazing chemistry. 🙂 We can not wait for the wedding… I know it will be breathtaking!

Dustin + Amber were looking for an e-session location with multiple backdrops, so we decided on Emerson Point Preserve in Palmetto. We made use of the natural light and the rustic fence in the entrance and moved through the park. We even got a few big smiles out of Dustin! 🙂 We took a few photos on the top of a hill overlooking the shore… it had a New England feel to it. Not something we come across often in flat Florida. We made it to the back shoreline just in time for the sunset. I think the last shot of the evening was my favorite. I loved the tall grasses by the shore and the dramatic sunset.

Forest + Elizabeth were married on a beautiful sunny afternoon. From the first moment, I was blown away with all of Elizabeth’s personal touches. She made the bouquets, boutineers, sign-in mat, favors, table decorations and CAKE! This woman is amazing… she made a rice crispy treat wedding cake and other (actual cake) cupcakes. This couple had coordinating, personalized Converse sneakers that even impressed the Father. 🙂 I loved capturing this couple’s style. They were so happy to be getting married, even though the bride confessed she was not a fan of weddings. But this was a celebration. A celebration of Forest and Elizabeth’s love and they got to celebrate with the best friends and family. It was perfect. The evening was full of emotional dances and one of the most amazing and strongest mother-of-the-bride I have ever met. Cheers to Forest and Elizabeth and being thankful everyday!

Alain and Jillian said, ‘i do,’ on the courtyard at Mainsail Suites Hotel & Conference Center in Tampa surrounded by friends and family. Their friends and family loved the convenience of having the ceremony, reception and lodging all in one location. The wedding coordinator was energetic and helpful all night. This couple couldn’t stop smiling! I always say, ‘I love it when a plan comes together!” I loved the colors Jillian chose and the KIDS! Oh my… too cute! I had a fresh helping of baby fever after this night. 🙂 The night was full of A-MAZING salsa dancing thanks to the DJ from the always fabulous Grant Hemond and Associates. Congrats to this awesome couple and their gorgeous family! Cheers!

Todd + Mary were married on a frosty, sunny afternoon under the giant oak tree. I just love Cross Creek Ranch weddings! The staff is so attentive and wonderful. The grounds are beautiful with gorgeous backdrops in every direction. This couple hosted a welcoming, wonderful event with personal touches everywhere. Mary and I are both huge fans of Etsy! 🙂 The event was full of laughing and jokes. My cheeks hurt from smiling. It is difficult to pick out my favorite memory from this wedding… outrageous dancing, step-stool kiss at the alter… No… it would be the groomsmen in rocker wigs. What a great day.

What’s better than a trip to Siesta Key? An e-session on Siesta Key!  I loved this session because the sun was just right. I get so excited when I get to be creative with light. I also wanted to copy her outfit! 🙂 But my FAVORITE thing about this couple… they can make each other laugh hysterically! I couldn’t help but smile watching them giggle. <3

Ybor is one of our favorite locations for engagement sessions. The architecture is urban but warm. The red brick and black steel are strong elements. The grand arches add an elegant touch to the otherwise harsh urban environment. The railroad tracks and trolley are throwbacks to historic Tampa. We incorporated their super cute save the date sign and made sure to avoid the stray roosters. It was an overcast day, so we played up the gray hues on the top of a garage. So fun for a height challenged individual like me. Fortunately for Ami she has perfect hair! I LOVED the bride and groom shirts… so cute. Maybe we will get coordinating shirts that say ‘photographer’. Ha. Don’t forget to have ‘Just Married’ shirts made for the honeymoon. <3
